by Terry McInturff
I once read that if there were a Hall of Fame for Guitar Builders, Terry McInturff should be one of the first to be nominated for it.
Terry McInturff has been building guitars for over 25 years. He has been featured on the covers of Guitar Player and Guitarist magazines, interviewed on National Public Radio, has been awarded two Guitar Player Magazine “Editor’s Pick Awards” and has a client list that includes Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Brad Whitford, Brad Delson, Audley Freed, David Hidalgo, Chuck Garvey, Marshall Crenshaw, and many others. He is most definitely on the "A" list of boutique solidbody luthiers today.
I looked for a good long while for just the right Carolina Custom and I found it in this stunning Lemon Burst specimen. This one has a 24 3/4" scale neck and eatures a beautiful curly maple top, dark Indian rosewood fingerboard, and a solid Spanish Cedar body with Throbak MXV SE101 Humbucker pickups. This guitar features the same period correct specs as the late 50s "Burst" guitars, right down the lack of truss rod sheath.
